What are people thinking when they remodel.

I have been checking out pictures of remodeled kitchens that are beautiful but to me a little over the top. You know what I mean when your kitchen looks better than the rest of your home or the decor up scales the other areas of the home and gives the impression that it isn't in the correct house. I love it when designers put things into a kitchen that looks great but not practical (i.e. microwave ovens in an island) the only person able to use this microwave would be kids or little people no person in his/her right mind would like to have to stand on their head just to program the dumb thing.  My idea of a great kitchen is plenty of counter space in workable spots, a pantry cabinet to put my larger appliances in and my canned food items , enough cabinets for all of my needs, pull out drawers for my pots and pans (so I do not have to get on all fours in order to get to the items in the very back), a dishwasher, gas stove with a microwave built into the exhaust fan, sink centrally located with a faucet that I can get a pot under easily, good lighting (natural and fixture) and open to other areas so I don't feel isolated from family and  friends.

Found a source for cabinet refacing

A new customer made this statement to me the other day,"I used to use Home Depot for everything like appliances, carpeting, etc and they were very reasonable but when I tried to use them for replacing my cabinet doors they were just Too expensive. I searched the internet and found Taylor Cabinet Door (www.taylorcabinetdoor.com) and WOW what a difference I got everything I needed to refacing my entire kitchen and replace my hinges also for less that what HD wanted."

Ryan's Cabinet Project

The doors were received in very good order, and are now fully installed in my cabinet.

During the project I couldn’t help but be impressed by the quality of the wood used in the doors, in addition to the craftsmanship of the machining and assembly of the parts used to make them.

During the finishing of the doors and drawer fronts, it was a pleasure to see how nice they turned out on the finished project.

Once I get the trim installed, all will be done. My wife has already had several friends over too show them off.
