Do-it-yourself remodeling tips:
1. Make sure your remodeling costs don't end up costing you more when you decide to sell your home.
2. Keeping your existing cabinets and refacing them with veneer in another wood type and purchasing new doors and drawer fronts is more cost effective than replacing the cabinets with new ones actually save you thousands vs hundreds.
3. Focus on these areas when updating/remodeling your kitchen: flooring, appliances, cabinets and fixtures.
4. If storage is an issue, then think about using pull out shelving units. These will add storage with out taking up much space.
5. If granite is out of your budget try checking out granite composite or recycled glass counter tops. They cost less and look great.
Remember that a little goes along way so too much detail may not always be the way to go when updating or remodeling.
